The New Rain
NEW RAIN is an ongoing anthology of poetry, prose and artwork which has been published annually since 1980. Volume 7 & 8, a double issue, is a large collection by all women writers, dedicated to Audre Lorde, and Volume 9, by all male writers, is another major collection. This series has allowed both emerging and established artists a forum for expression which might not otherwise have been available.
Individual volumes of poetry and prose are also available and plans for future individual volumes are in place. Thus far, Judy Dothard Simmons, Brenda Connor-Bey, Gary Johnston and C.D. Grant have been published; volumes by poets, playwrights and photographers are planned for the near future. The Company has also published Change the World, a collection of poetry by teenagers from the Bronx-based Mind Builders Creative Arts Center, especially for our youth.
